Health Tips on Prevention of Deafness

 

  • Avoid loud noises, sounds above 85dB (Decibels) like that in busy traffic are probably harmful.
  • Be careful with listening to music via earphones or headphones, do not use more than an hour at a time and keep the volume below 60%of maximum.
  • Protect your hearing during loud events and activities, move away from sources of loud noises eg loudspeakers.
  • Take precautions at work, use PPEs such as ear muffs or earplugs.
  • Get your hearing tested.
